this is unbelievable.....

My heart breaks every time I hear of natural disasters. Specially when they happen in third world countries where having come from one and lived in several I know the infrastructure is so bad.

My sister sent me this link. This is UNREAL! Check out the before and after of the church! I can't believe they all made it out alive!

Lindsey & Frank 5.10.08

I met lindsey and frank in Central Park for their engagement session and from the moment I met them we clicked and had such a great time that afternoon! One of their favorite spots is New York City and it was fitting for us to do the sessions there.

The day before their wedding it was raining like crazy and they were calling for some rain the following day too. Deep inside I knew that it wasn't going to rain. I have this thing which I don't tell too many people that I have not yet shot a wedding where it has rained out the day! (knock on wood!). So I knew we were going to have an awesome day!

Their family and friends were so sweet to me. I met some stellar people and had such a fun day with everyone.

Thank you guys for letting me capture your day! :)

two yankees in boston....

So as a faithful new york yankee fan I don't like the red sox. But I do love the city of Boston and have been having a great time here! But my good friend Mandy (also a yankee fan) and I just had to get this picture cause there is just red sox crap everywhere! boooooooooo!

friends in boston...

It's so cool to be able to catch up with friends whom I haven't seen in a while...

Dan and I played soccer together and did a lot of not studying and other related activities. The dude is made now! He's the manager of one of the sweet Boston Sports Clubs!

I did Mary Kay's wedding in the fall and it's so cool to always catch up with her. She's my number one fan!
Jason and Hollie are old friends of mine. Jason and I go back to our grade school days in Kenya. They have 3 kidos now that keep em busy. It's a long way since those lazy kenyan days as kids....

Wandering in Boston....

I'm in Boston for a few days and have had a sweet time. In the midst of some boring conferences I got to see a bit of the city and catch up with some old friends!

I kept calling the 'T' the 'train'! it's cool in Boston but not as cool as the smelly and crowded NYC subway!

surrounded by pure talent...

I got to shoot a wedding with my good friend Kenny Kim this past weekend and it was so cool not only because I got to hang out and shoot with Mr. 1,700+ facebook friends, but also because I got to meet some of those 1,700 friends. These guys were very cool and all part of a wedding photographer community that continues to inspire me and amaze at how talented and such good people they are. Here's some pics I stole from his blog, but check out his blog for more and also to see some of their websites. These guys are amazing artists! Check out their sites and you'll see why.

inspiring weekend...

I just got back form a fun weekend. I got to attend an amazing workshop in NYC with two of the best wedding photographers in the world. Joe Buissink has been an inspiration to me since I started photographing weddings a few years ago. His approach of 'capturing moments' is so inspiring and any time he talks I get this confirmation that this is what I want to do for a looooong time! Yervant is another amazing photographer who I only became aware of in the last year. His approach to wedding photography is very different to Joe's but inspiring and amazing just the same. I got to meet them both and got lots of great information on how they approach their work as art.

I also got to shoot Lindsey and Frank's wedding way out in the middle of nowhere...Spring Grove, PA! Look it up in a map it's somwhere in PA.  :) Pictures to come soon.....

Bethany & Erik - Greenwich, CT

It's always so neat for me to see the care and attention to every little detail that goes into every wedding. Bethany and Erik had meaning behind so many things in their wedding. From the wedding rings that were carefully picked out from non-conflict areas of the world to the flowers carefully selected for the aisle to the song written for and sang during the ceremony by their close friend Christian Evans (it's also the song on the slideshow). The wedding was absolutely beautiful and such a fun group of people to be hanging out with all day!

Alyce & Paul - Garnerville, NY

What a big celebration this wedding was! Alyce and Paul both have big families and friends and it was such a good time spending the day with everyone. We went to the Pepsico Gardens in Purchase for the pictures and couldn't have asked for a better time in the spring! I can't say enough about the fun everyone had at the reception and the food was absolutely awesome! I know everyone had such a great time.

I'm so glad you guys asked me to do your wedding. It was such a fun time! :)
