Philippines Day 4...

We had a couple problems with the internet and so took I couple days rest from blogging, but here we go again with the updates...

Street kids in the city of Cebu are common. These guys are making the most of what they got and are selling water and OJ in the streets. I've been amazed at how open people are here to getting their pictures taken. They love it and pose all the time!

The homes here vary from place to place. This one is a cool looking one I saw on one of our trips to an orphanage. It reminded me of the houses you see in the jungle with the stilts under them.

One of our activities today was to visit a class at the Baptist Theological Seminary where the Nyack students got to interact with seminary students in a Crisis Counseling class taught by Jiji Harner. We got to meet several members of staff and also the president came to meet with us.

Jiji Harner (a Nyack and ATS alumn) opened up the class and was gracious enough to allow us to sit in on her class.

Abe was dozing off and I couldn't' help putting this picture in the blog! To his credit this class was right after lunch!

We get to ride these 'jeepnys' everywhere. They are common public transportation together with the motorcycles and tricycles you have seen in pictures. They are a fun and tight ride!

This is a view from the jeepny. you get a nice breeze during the ride!

These are bags made out of recycled newspaper. It's a project that helps people earn some money and some of the proceeds go to scholarship young people to enable them to go to school.

Here's the info on the bags...

David Jennings got to pray for the president and members of staff of the Seminary.
